How to be more professional....
Top tips on how to look more professional....
1. ALWAYS look a million bucks! When you look amazing, your clients have more trust in your abilities and are happier to spend their money with you! Its a silly reasoning but we as humans make split second opinions on each other and this will determine whether or not we want you as a hairdresser.
2. Make a business account on Facebook and Instagram. You shouldn't be letting your clients or potential clients see too much into your life. Again this allows them to make unnecessary opinions of you. Have a well presented social media account, where you can interact with them on a professional level.
3. Start your services with an extensive consultation. Go through EVERYTHING with them. This will allow them to build trust in you.
4. ALWAYS talk about hair. Its ok to try and build a relationship with your client, but again they shouldn't know too much about yourself. They are paying for your time and you should be concentrating on them. Make sure your conversations are appropriate and not off topic.
5. Offer refreshments and entertainment to your clients. If you struggle to make conversation, then magazines can be a life saver!
6. RETAIL RETAIL RETAIL. Providing knowledgeable recommendations to your client can make the world of difference. Clients trust in your opinions and value your education. Retailing allows you to show off all of your knowledge.
7. Use your clients name several times throughout the service. The client will feel important, valued and less like a number.
8. Don't be patronising. Clients are not trained in hairdressing, and sometimes struggle to keep up. Make sure you take the time to fully explain the service and ensure they understand. Again you will build their trust.
9. Dress appropriately. Wearing black is the best. Even though you can look fab in colour, black clothing looks professional and acts as a blank canvas. Colourful clothing can clash with clients hair colour.
10. Keep your attention on your client. When doing their hair focus on them. Don't speak to your colleague or other customers in the salon. Again the client is paying for your full attention.
